National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an annual challenge in which writers of all walks of life attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in the 30 days of November. No words written before November count towards the final word count (ideally, a new novel should be started every year). NaNoWriMo is open to all genres and all ages, with no entry fee and a vast online support community. It is all at once the most fun and the most stressful, insane month of my year.
Camp NaNo is an challenge in April and July, operated by the brains behind NaNoWriMo. Camp NaNo gives you the freedom to set your own goal: a new novel with a set word count, adding more words to a work in progress, editing a work in progress…. The list goes on.
I am active on the NaNoWriMo support forums under the moniker acover4422. You can view my profile – during November, you can live-track my descent into madness! – here.
